Cape Cod Center for the Arts gets New CE and Playhouse Producer!

      Cape Playhouse, Dennis MA

I had the pleasure last week of attending the reception held at the Cape Cinema to welcome Mark Cuddy, the new CEO and Producer of the Cape Cod Center for the Arts in Dennis. See this article about Mark in the latest issue of The Register, but may I just say that the man is so talented, creative and charismatic that he made you want to write a check to support the arts right then and there!  Lots of exciting things in store for CCCA future, but one that I am particularly enthused about is what he called the "education" aspect of what will happen at the Center going forward. This will include sessions immediately preceding all performances, in which there will be discussion about behind the scenes, context of the production etc. to help the audience better understand and enjoy their theater experience. Love it!  Stay tuned to hear lots more about Mark and his plans to make our Dennis "gem" a world class campus for artful entertainment.

Many of the people you talk with in your day to day travels either don't even know your name until you hand them your card, or won't remember your name later. But if your picture is there, they'll remember your face. More importantly, when they see you smiling at them, they'll remember that they liked you

"Northside Fine Foods" Opens in Dennis Village

You might recall around this time last year, I did a video blog  on a new business that opened in the Village - Nancy's Candy, Etc.  (Click on the link in case you missed that one!) Located just west of the Dennis Village post office on Route 6A, Nancy has a new neighbor right next door -  a  gourmet food shop called NORTHSIDE FINE FOODS.  Proprietor Jane Mason says " I truly enjoy perusing through gourmet food shops - wherever I am...and that will reflect in the products you'll find in Northside Fine Foods.  Honey from Savannah, delicate oils from Italy, Black Lava Cashews from Hawaii, exotic dips from an organic farm in Florida."  Here is a video of Jane as she tells you all about her new venture.

Big News in Dennis Village - Gas Station is OPEN!

New Gas Station on Route 6A in Dennis Village

I know....it must be  a slow news day if this item is big, BUT if you have been among those of us waiting interminably for the old Christy's to reopen,  yesterday was a red letter day!  After over a year of construction shrouded in mystery, the new CAPE COD FARMS opened yesterday (not sure about that name as not a tomato in sight....)  on the corner of Route 6A and Old Bass River Rd. here in the Village.  No longer must we head to East Dennis or Yarmouth Port to gas up - we now have our very own station PLUS a convenience store right here in the Village.  The design is attractive and in keeping with the historic nature of the "northside" so all in all, a great new addition to our Village life!  P.S.  $3.49 per gallon.........and no FULL SERVE.

If the previous game is too adventurous for you, simply try flapping a blanket in the air above your ferret as if you were fluttering a bed sheet over a mattress. Instead of courting athlete's foot, you should at least try to train your ferret to use a litter box. They come in brown, black, white, or mixed fur with some having a "raccoon like" mask around their eyes.

            "CandyLand" in Dennis Village!

Just in time for Easter, Dennis Village has a new candy store!  Nancy's Candy, Etc. opened on April 1 next door to the Post Office on Main St., in the former home of Leslie Curtis Antiques.  Owner Nancy Magnuson worked for many years at Kandy Korner in Hyannis and has decided to transfer her expertise to her own shop in Dennis. Lucky us!

Here's a video of Nancy in her shop.

P.S. Check out this ADORABLE COTTAGE we have listed, North of 6A and walking distance to Nancy's!
