Cape Cod - Land of Sun, Fun and the ARTS?

Dennis Village\'s Cape Museum of Art

Did you know that Cape Cod has more theatres than off-Broadway at the moment? So says, Nina Schuessler, artistic director of the Harwich Junior Theater, a strong supporter of the move afoot to have the tourst industry see Cape Cod not just as a summer resort, but a cultural destination as well. The recent hiring of a new executive director for the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is a big step in the right direction. Kevin Howard's goal is to have the world beyond the Sagamore Bridge view the Cape as THE place to go to experience creativity in all its forms. We who live and work here are all for extending our tourist base and the season as well. Think about it - arts and culture are not dependent on sunny beach days! Promoting the arts will attract a new audience to our glorious shores and enliven the arts economy as well. We wish Kevin Howard well in his endeavor to nurture and market the Cape's artistic communities and put Cape Cod on the cultural destination map!
