Cape Cod Center for the Arts gets New CE and Playhouse Producer!

I had the pleasure last week of attending the reception held at the Cape Cinema to welcome Mark Cuddy, the new CEO and Producer of the Cape Cod Center for the Arts in Dennis. See this article about Mark in the latest issue of The Register, but may I just say that the man is so talented, creative and charismatic that he made you want to write a check to support the arts right then and there!  Lots of exciting things in store for CCCA future, but one that I am particularly enthused about is what he called the "education" aspect of what will happen at the Center going forward. This will include sessions immediately preceding all performances, in which there will be discussion about behind the scenes, context of the production etc. to help the audience better understand and enjoy their theater experience. Love it!  Stay tuned to hear lots more about Mark and his plans to make our Dennis "gem" a world class campus for artful entertainment. 




Will Interest Rates Rise and How Might that Effect You?

Interest rates fell approximately a half a point in the weeks following Ben Bernanke's announcement in late September that the Fed would continue their pace of bond purchases. This purchasing of bonds has acted as a stimulus package for the housing industry as it has kept mortgage interest rates at historic lows. However, rates over the last few weeks are again inching upward.

There currently is a window of opportunity for you to still get a sub-5% interest rate. This opportunity is expected to disappear in the very near future as most experts expect the Fed to taper the bond purchasers in December.

Even Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Fed, suggested that the Fed could still scale back the stimulus this year. He stated: "If the data confirms our basic outlook, then we could move later this year."

DogFest Cape Cod October 5, 2013


This is our puppy, Riesling!

By now you may have heard about our puppy, Riesling, whom we are raising to be a service dog for Canine Companions for Independence.  Have we told you that these dogs are provided free of charge to their handicapped recipients?  The cost of raising and training these special animals is $50K - that's right - per dog!  To aid Canine Companions in their efforts, we are the chairpersons of a fundraiser called Dog Fest Walk 'n Roll to be held on October 5 at 1:00 at Johnny Kelley Park in South Dennis.  There are lots of ways to participate:

Grab a leash and be part of Canine Companions DogFest Walk 'n Roll! It's a community dog walk that supports the mission of Canine Companions for Independence. Register just yourself, or put together a group of friends, family members or coworkers and walk as a team.

Then fundraise!  Your fundraising efforts will transform the lives of people with disabilities and earn you an awesome DogFest Walk 'n Roll prize. If you raise $100, you get a bandana to sport at our event. Register today, you're sure to have a tail-waggin' good time!

        I would like to sign up to walk on October 5. I raised a canine companion, Baci, and he will walk also. He was turned in for training November 2012 but was released a month later.                   Introducing Riesling, our 8 week old yellow lab/golden retriever  puppy! Lomenzo Properties has teamed up with Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that provides service dogs to persons with physical and cognitive disabilities.  "Exceptional Dogs for Exceptional People" is their motto  (a perfect fit with Lomenzo Properties' goal to provide "Exceptional Service without Exception" to our Cape Cod real estate clients.)  We are raising Riesling to eventually be a companion for a person (adult, child, war veteran)  with disabilities.  We have the pleasure of having him for 12-16 months during which time we are responsible for his care, love  and obedience training.  After that time, we turn him back over to Canine Companions for intensive training to become a companion dog.  We think it's an EXCEPTIONAL CONNECTION and look forward to regularly updating you on Riesling's puppyhood and progress,  as well as our ongoing commitment to Canine Companions for Independence.
